Inventory of Learning and Study Strategies: Psychometric Analysis of an Abbreviated Version
Abstract
Psychometric analyses on the short version of the Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (Fernández Liporace, Scheinsohn & Uriel, 2010; Uriel, Stover, Scheinsohn, Contini de González & Fernández Liporace, 2009; Weinstein, Schulte & Palmer, 1987), developed on High School and College students from Buenos Aires, are presented. Its dimensionality was examined by confirmatory factor analysis, obtaining adequate fit indices. Analyses were replicated in sub-samples splitted by educational level and gender, adding a Bootstrap procedure with 500 randomized sub-samples, finding similar results. Factors´ consistency was calculated by α Cronbach and α ordinal, getting acceptable values. The correct psychometric behavior of this short version makes it available to be used in research and professional contexts, in order to follow students across their academic life, from High School to College.
