The Mediating Role of Resilience in the Relationship between Self-efficacy and Post-traumatic Growth among Nurses during the COVID-19 Pandemic

The aim of current study was to investigate the mediating role of resilience in the relationship between self-efficacy and post-traumatic growth among nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research design was descriptive-correlational. From the mentioned, a total of 350 nurses selected via convinence sampling method and were examined by Tedeschi and Calhoun Post-traumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI), Scherer et al. General Self-Efficacy Questionnaire (GSE-17), and Conor-Davidson resilience scale (CD-RISK). To analyze the collected data Pearson correlation coefficient and Structural Equation Modeling were conducted. The results showed that direct effect of self-efficacy and the direct effect of resilience on the post-traumatic growth were significantly positive. Also, results showed that the mediating role of resilience in the relationship between self-efficacy and post-traumatic growth was significant. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that resilience and self-efficacy were important factors affecting nurses’ post-traumatic growth. Therefore, it is suggested that specialists by increasing resilience and self-efficacy through training and counseling interventions help nurses to manage the psychological truamas that resulted by covid-19 pandemic.
