Pembentukan konsep diri remaja pada keluarga Jawa yang beragama Islam
Abstract
Adolescence is a period which the self-concept developed. The self-concept is influenced by experiences and environmenal backgroud where people live, include the culture and the religion professed by the family. The purpose of this research was to determine the role of family support and to describe the forms of family support in the establishment of adolescent’s self-concept is reviewed against the background of Javanese Muslim family. The sampling using purposive sampling techniques with 80 students, the characteristics of the sample are aged 10-14 years with secondary school education or equivalent, have complete parents, Muslim and native people who live in Java, Surakarta. Data collection tool used was an open questionnaire and interview. Data analysis technique is to describe the results of interpretation. It was concluded that adolescents with a good self-concept have a family with good communication, open and close relationship. Other than, the parent always give support both morally and materially, in term of attention, motivation and advice. In addition to the religious teachings of Islam and Javanese good value also taught to support the evolving concept of good self in adolescents.
