The article addresses the resignification of the character of Antigone in the figure of the Uruguayan poet, pedagogue, and feminist Luisa Luisi through the concept of “parrhesia” (Michel Foucault). I explore how Antigone's parrhesiastic attitude was embodied in the presence and speech of Luisi at the funeral of Julio C. Grauert, updating the Antigone myth as a symbol of rebellion, and connected to the feminist movements of the early 20th century.
