This paper analyzes the working conditions and educational practices of teachers who work in rural schools in three Mexican states. This is a qualitative study, which examines the cases of six schools whose teachers apply a multi-grade approach. This research highlights that the context and working conditions of the places where these teachers work do not allow the fulfilment of a pertinent and balanced education for rural populations.
