Cuerpo, violencia sexual y minoridad en el periodo tardo-colonial. Interrogantes y perspectivas (Río de la Plata, siglo XVIII)

Abstract

This paper reviews the ways in which sexual violence against minors was judged towards the end of the colonial period in the Rio de la Plata region. We will attend to the treatment and the role assigned to the bodies of the victims in each case, for which we address two judicial files. In one, a series of abuses committed against a group of men were investigated, while in the other the rape perpetrated against a girl was tried. We propose to investigate the ways in which, within these judicial writings, female and male corporality’s were perceived, named, and judged considering the characteristics of the selected cases.
