The Greek investigation on the anatomy of the eye and on its humors was extremely wide and yielded complex results. This knowledge was inherited by Latin literature, and underwent a systematic process of reduction and simplification in the texts of late antique authors (Vindicianus; Pseudo-Vindicianus). This paper aims to highlight what remains of the Greek reflection in the surviving Latin texts, from Celsus to Agnellus Ravennatis.
