Temps perdu et retrouvé dans les campagnes slovaques

Abstract

The author reflects on the role of time in his research on the Slovak countryside. Initially undertaken for a doctoral thesis, his investment in the field continues to the present day. The timeline is punctuated by political events linked to the Slovakian political transition; it then includes different sequences of varying duration corresponding to the transformation of the agricultural cooperatives. To understand the present of the countryside, the geographer explores the past by collecting life stories and is interested in the temporalities at work in the landscapes.
