We present a clear and defined intervention procedure of the work of the psychotherapist and other operators in helping relationships, with autistic and intellectual disabilities in adulthood or at the end of school, with the aim of acquiring autonomy and facilitating social inclusion, reducing the isolation, stigmatization and marginality experienced by these individuals and their families. The theory and technique of gestalt, integrated with other approaches that refer to a cognitive and behavioral framework and oriented towards the acquisition of autonomy, allow the construction of an integrated intervention model, which has the aim of taking charge of the subjects adults with intellectual disabilities and long-term autism spectrum disorder. Furthermore, the small fragments of this long path, which constitute the individual therapy meetings, will also be examined, these too adapted to the integrated vision in theory and technique. In the long-term care taking into account the contact cycle, the levels of experience and the contact functions, the therapeutic intervention and the inclusion of the disabled will be structured according to their needs, abilities and potential, foreseeing a moment observation and data collection, the gradual introduction of learning activities to achieve specific objectives; finally, the assessment and preparation for the evolution of the therapeutic path based on the individual's needs and age, with reference to the achieved and future goals. The synergistic cooperation of the psychotherapist and various professional figures, essential for the intervention, will be crucial to support family members and accompany the subject in the path of social integration and in the acquisition of autonomy for daily life. This procedure will find maximum expression and validity if carried out in a small group, with the aim of facilitating the autistic subject and with intellectual disabilities in the relationship and cooperation with peers.
