Background Hypertension is a chronic disease characterized by elevation of blood pressure. Adherence to antihypertensive medications is crucial for achieving hypertension control. Uncontrolled hypertension is an important risk factor for stroke, coronary heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, heart failure, and chronic kidney disease. Our study aimed to check for anti-hypertensive drug compliance for known hypertensive patients among the parents of medical students at Malabar Medical College. The study also aimed to determine the reasons and the complications of non – compliance.
