Design of the Field Protection and Signal Priority at Intersection System for Autonomous-rail Rapid Transit
Abstract
Popularization and application of autonomous-rail rapid transit( ART ) in many cities enrich its operation scenarios. In the area where autonomous-rail rapid tram run in both directions, and in the virtual turnout area where multiple lines meet, it is usually based on a reasonable plan and driver manual visual driving to avoid crash, rear-end collision and other accidents. Traffic safety mainly depends on the driver. Based on the characteristics of ART line, this paper proposes a system solution of " field protection + signal priority control at intersection " from the point of view of optimizing the system equipment. It provides auxiliary driving information for the driver through automation equipment, realizes the functions of route protection, virtual section occupied/unoccupied detection, signal control, entering/leaving station detection, platform door linkage control, berth status detection and management in deport and so on, which improves system security and reduces driver working intensity. This system solution is implemented and validated in the rapid transit system T1 project in Wujiang. It can effectively improve operation safety and operation efficiency of autonomous-rail rapid tram, increase resource utilization.
