«Diverse lingue, orribili favelle…»: nota sulla lingua del Mondo salvato dai ragazzini di Elsa Morante

Abstract

The article proposes a textual and linguistic analysis of Il Mondo salvato dai ragazzini e altri poemi by Elsa Morante (Einaudi 1968): textual structure, sectoral languages, foreign words, dialectal words, great abundance of names and toponyms make a poetic work which is related to the plurality of languages and styles of the Divina Commedia. The interpretation of the text presents remarks that are very close to remarks present in contemporary Morantian essays (Pro o contro la bomba atomica, Sul romanzo, Il Beato propagandista del Paradiso).
