MULTIFUNCTIONAL SIGNIFICANCE OF BOTANICAL GARDENS

Abstract

On the example of the botanical garden of the St. Petersburg State Forestry University named after S.M. Kirov. There is an overview of the diverse significance of botanical gardens as scientific, educational, cultural and recreational objects. It emphasizes its uniqueness in terms of the history of formation, geographical location, diversity of habitats and richness of the collection of woody and herbaceous plants as an object for carrying out complex studies of urban ecosystems in conditions of increasing anthropogenic load.
