Small museums and new technologies, the case study of Germanicus Caesar ... one step away from the Empire in Amelia
Abstract
Digital technologies for culture represent a strategic turning point for the enhancement and use of museums. The data is now clear and is revealed both by a vast series of cases and by an even wider scientific literature. Small and medium-sized museums are increasingly interested by the use of new technologies to improve the range of use and enhancement of their collections. Through the use of experiential and emotional narratives, technology has a didactic purpose within the museum framework that allows it to reach different audiences both in terms of age and of prescribed language. Within this context we want to offer an in- depth analysis of a case study in particular, namely the multimedia exhibition Germanico Cesare ... a un passo dall'Impero at the Museo Archeologico e Galleria "E Rosa" di Amelia, created by Progetto Katatexilux and curated by Professor Marcello Barbanera and produced by Sistema Museo.
