The optimization of manufacturing times and costs of a product is essential to the Production Engineering, so a product becomes viable. The concern for compliance with the standards and certifications is growing on metal frame industries. That is due to the products suitability for use in public housing projects. The aim of this paper is to present improvements and innovations applied on a hinged door model of a metal frames company. A change in product design has led to the elimination or substitution of critical operations for more efficient operations. The results are process reduction, as well as the final cost of the product, increasing its profit.
