Abstract

Specialized translation theory in USSR and Russia against the background of general translation studies In the article the history of specialized translation theory in USSR and Russia is presented. Education system of specialized translators, their employment conditions and market are described and scientific research in the field is analyzed against the background of general translation studies at a time when paradigms were changing.
