Mortality (per 100,000 inhabitants) by sex and age range was calculated age in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Analysis of the linear regression model was used to analyze time trends with a 95% confidence level using Stata software version 11.0. Results: The total number of deaths from type 2 Diabetes Mellitus between 2008 and 2017 was 6,899, higher in females with 3,776 deaths (54.73%). Predominant in the elderly over 80 years old with 2,283 deaths (33.09%). Individuals with 1 to 3 years of schooling (education) had a higher occurrence of deaths with 1,917 (27.79%). The most frequent causes of mortality were uncomplicated (3,147; 45.62%), renal complications (1,731; 25.09%) and multiple complications (569; 8.25%). The mortality trend between the years 2008 to 2017 was stationary (β = 0.03; 95% CI: 0.005; 0.11; p = 0.038; r2 = 0.10).Regarding gender, the data demonstrate stability in mortality. Conclusion: Mortality from type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in the state of São Paulo between 2008 and 2017 was stationary.
