Response Surface Design for Flexible Transmission Shaft of GTF Gear Reducer

The optimal geometric parameters of the flexible shaft in GTF gear reducer are obtained by using response surface design method. Firstly,parameterized programs in Python language are coded based on Abaqus platform for finite element analysis( FEA) of the shaft,which achieves automatic calculation for higher computation efficiency. Secondly,sixty sampling points in design space are determined by Optimal Latin Hypercube sampling method,and the corresponding values of maximum Von Mises of the shaft are acquired successfully through invoking the programs. Accordingly,the response surface optimization model of the Mises objective function is determined and solved,and it is validated by simulation results of exact finite element model with the optimum solution. Similarly,the response surface optimization results of the stiffness of the shaft are also presented,which provides theoretical foundation for engineering application.
