In this article, Prof. Dr. Vinod Kumar Sinha reflects on his 8 years as the immediate past Editor of the Indian Journal of Social Psychiatry (IndJSP). He first introduces the reader to the uniqueness of the journal. Its academic values are thereafter reviewed. Furthermore, Dr. Sinha contemplates on the clinical importance of the articles included in the IndJSP. He then shares his views on the direction in which the IndJSP should proceed. He concludes by emphasizing the need for more research among children/adolescents and the elderly in India.
