Eliturbo Air-Mixer: CFD Modelling of a Technology for the Reduction of Thermal Stratification in Large Spaces
Abstract
In the air conditioning of medium and large spaces, particularly in artisanal and industrial environments, characterized by heights well exceeding 4 meters, vertical air stratification during the heating phase is a common and undesirable phenomenon. Due to logistical reasons, it is not always possible to adopt heat distribution terminals optimally, prioritizing, for example, areas occupied by personnel to ensure thermal comfort or, in some cases, areas with machinery or other equipment that need to operate at specific temperatures. In the present paper the Eliturbo mixing system is presented along with a CFD study that illustrates the effects of introducing a destratification device inside a typical warehouse working environment.
