This article describes basic aspects related to blast-induced ground vibrations and presents a methodology for predicting this phenomenon, as well as the results of its application in a real case. The parameters and variables involved in blasting processes, PHWKRGVWRSUHGLFWYLEUDWLRQVDVZHOODVWKHLUH൵HFWVRQVWUXFWXUHVDQGFULWHULDWRHYDOXDWHWKHPDUHGHVFULEHG7KHPHWKRGRORJ\proposes to carry out test blasting in order to obtain registers of velocities or accelerations of particles vs time and to use numerical modeling to quantify the dynamic response of the terrain, predict the levels of vibrations that could be generated and evaluate its H൵HFWVRQVWUXFWXUHVWKURXJKFRPSDUDWLYHDQDO\VLVZLWKDGPLVVLEOHOLPLWVYDOXHVHVWDEOLVKHGLQWKHUHJXODWLRQVWRDYRLGGDPDJH7KHresults obtained by applying the methodology in a real case are presented, as well as the conclusions and recommendations issued based on them.
