Domestiquer les rivières : une réponse à l’urgence de l’inondation, une réaction aux enjeux du quotidien
Abstract
In 2014, the vine protection devices of La Londe-les-Maures are carried away, ripped off by unprecedented floods on the territory. The winegrowers quickly worked to rebuild them, reproducing the domestication of rivers initiated by their predecessors. However, two years later, the responses provided after the flood are still not stabilized and the relations with the water managers are getting more complicated. The aim of this article is to question this situation in order to show how the material responses to a disaster are intertwined with ordinary territorial issues. The empirical study shows that the material responses reflect the winegrowers' relationship with the river and materialize their identity claim within a territory under pressure.
