A procura do consumo financeiramente sustentável. Socialização e representações sociais do consumo, crédito e poupança
Abstract
This article presents a sociological perspective on consumption, credit and savings in Portugal. Departing from the discussion on the potential and limitations of education for consumption, we focus on the importance of socialization. How do consumers form their representations of financially sustainable consumption? The aim is to analyze the evaluation of messages and sources of information on money, consumption, credit, debt and savings by consumers. The relative importance of family, friends, school, media and organizations in the dissemination and credibility of these messages is considered. To this end, we present the findings of four research projects involving children, youth and adults, conducted between 2009 and 2012.
