La sfida psicologica e organizzativa delle imprese recuperate
Abstract
The Psychological and Organizational Challenge of Recovered Factories Abstract This paper aims at contextualizing the phenomenon of recovered factories both from a historical and a psychological perspective. The need for a managerial role in the organization is discussed by an introductory analysis of the Soviet workers’ control of the production experience and, above all, a wide discussion of the Argentinian phenomenon of recovered factories. Comparing primary data from field work carried out in an Italian recovered factory with a metanalysis on the Argentinian phenomenon, three levels show which we can analyze the recovery process with: personal identity, organizational structure (hierarchy, decisional processes, economic management) and gender dynamics. Nowadays, the ‘boss-less’ model represents a possible and reproducible option. However, some problems remain which could be represented by the following dichotomies: inefficiency/self-exploitation, informality/ bureaucratization, isolation/subjection to the market. Keywords: recovered factories, self-management, organizational change
