Enchanted are hybrid beings, "spirituality" not entirely from the worldof the living, nor completely from the world of the dead. This study focuses on healing practices based on experiences of a resident of Mocambo do Arari-Parintins, Amazonas, bringing the relationship between her and these beings, through oral history. Theresults point to the power of faith amalgamated by the encounter of African, Indigenous and European knowledge, thinking how popular knowledge is articulated to social, economic and identity issues. Emphasis is placed on the power of woman as builders of healing, subjective well-being, through practices such as blessing, sharing and receiving knowledge dictated by the enchanted.
