Ecomafie, oggi: l’inversione della rotta dei rifiuti illeciti

Abstract

In Italy, today we see new trends in enviromental crime, under the profile of the actors involved and of the techiques used, in particular in waste trafficking and in illegal disposal of waste. From an initial monopoly of the Camorra along the Noth-South Italian “waste route”, we subsequently moved to the hegemony of the ’Ndrangheta in Northern Italy; especially in the last few years, however, enviromental crime sees as protagonists actors belonging to the legal economics, members of a “deviant entrepreneurship” that systematically practises environmental crimes as a method of containment of business costs. In a positive sum game, the Norther Italy scenario now shows a coexistence between mafia actor and indipendent entrepreneurial players.
