Increasing the Students’ Writing Skill in Recount Text through Transition Action Details (TAD) Strategy at the Tenth Grade of SMA Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Idanoi in 2022/2023

Writing is one of the important aspects of language learning. In writing, one must pay attention to proper grammar, vocabulary, and spelling, so that writing skills can help improve overall language skill. Therefore, it is important for students to master writing especially recount text. The researcher tries to search the students’ problems in writing recount text through Transition Action Details (TAD) Strategy at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli idanoi in 2022/2023. The purpose of the research is to increase the students’ writing skill in personal recount through Transition Action Details (TAD) Strategy. The research was conducted by using Classroom Action Research. The subject of the research was the students at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Idanoi The research has been conducted in two cycles, which each cycle consisted of two meetings, there were four steps in conducting this research namely (1) Planning, (2) Action, (3) Observation (4) Reflection. The result of the data in Cycle I showed that there were 10 students (48%) got mark classified in “Very Poor” level, 5 students (24%) got mark classified in “Poor” level, 3 students (14%) got mark classified in “Fair” level and 3 students (14%) got mark classified in “Good” level. While in Cycle II 12 students (57%) got mark classified in “Good” level, and 9 students (43%) got mark classified in “Very Good” level. From the result of the research, It can be concluded that Transition Action Details (TAD) Strategy increases the students’ writing skill in personal recount at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Idanoi in 2022/2023. Finally, the researcher suggested all readers especially to the next researcher to explore in the research but select other real material and strategy which is appropriate to the students’ needs.
