Analysis of service efficiency indices for the Romanian Division A1 women's volleyball teams in the 2019-2020 season

Abstract

The analysis of the volleyball service efficiencyindices isbecominga necessity atthemoment, due to the importance this action has in the economy of winning the game in the nowadays’ performance volleyball. The purpose of this study is to analyse and highlight the service efficiency indices for the women’s volleyball teams in Division A1 in the 2019-2020 season. The hypothesis of the study we verified aimed to highlight statistically the existence of differences between the service efficiency indices and the women’s volleyball teams participating in Division A1 in the 2019-2020 season.Within the study, we analysed 18,652 services performed by 120 volleyball players from the 11 teams participating in the competitionsin Division A1 in the 2019-2020 season. The results obtained from our study indicate that there are statistically significantdifferences between the means of service efficiency indices forthe teams participating in the championship. In conclusion, we can say that the service efficiency indices analysed in the 2019-2020 season are different for the women’s volleyball teams participating in Division A1 in Romania.
