Innovation for training inclusion: attitudes of the university community
Abstract
One of the factors that powerfully influence the development of inclusive models for diversity in education centres is the attitudes of the educational community. This study analyzed the inclusion of the group with disabilities in the face of the university, emphasizing the importance of the attitudes of teachers as well as the rest of the university community, as a whole for inclusion to be successful. Different instruments were applied to students with and without disabilities, Teaching and Research Staff and Administration and Services Staff of the Faculty of Education Sciences of the University of Granada. The results showed that, in general, the university community has positive attitudes towards students with disabilities, with differences according to the group, being more favorable the attitudes of university teachers. Finally, training activities were developed to create a space for reflection, contributing in favor of equality of opportunity, inclusion and academic development of university students with disabilities.
