Assessment of correlation between lipid ratios and body mass index in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Abstract

Objective. Studies that have evaluated correlation between body mass index (BMI) and novel lipid indices such as triglycerides (TG)/high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C), total cholesterol (TC)/HDL-C, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C)/HDL-C in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are scarce. Hence, the aim of the present study was to explore the correlation between BMI and novel lipid indices in Bosnian patients with T2DM.
