Hadis Pada Masa Pembaharuan Islam Di Minangkabau: Telaah Penggunaan Hadis Dalam Majalah Alchoethbah Karya Hs. Moenaaf

Abstract

The issue of Islamic reform in Minangkabau in the 20th century is strongly associated with the advancement of literacy in writing. The progress in literacy during this period was used as a reference for society to study Islam, one of which was through magazines. This article aims to reveal the use of hadiths in the magazine Alchoethbah, which was published in Minangkabau in the early 20th century. The use discussed includes issues such as the prohibition against prioritizing reason over Sharia (contravening religious teachings) and the importance of unity. These two hadiths were used by Hs. Moenaaf has legal legitimacy in his writings. The author then conducts an analysis related to the hadiths and the magazine Alchoethbah using qualitative data analysis, focusing on the hadiths used in the magazine. The data obtained is then critically described using the narrative analysis method. The author's analysis found that two hadiths were used and written by Hs. Moenaaf in the magazine Alchoethbah. These hadiths were presented by Hs. Moenaaf supports the context of Islamic reform in his sermon narratives. The two hadiths included in the magazine Alchoethbah served as part of the evidence used by the writer. Broadly speaking, these hadiths were relevant to the period of Islamic reform, as Alchoethbah itself served as a medium to facilitate the understanding of the teachings of Islamic reformist scholars, such as the prohibition of prioritizing reason over the islamic sharia and the prohibition against division and group fanaticism.
