How to read a literary archive? The case of Manuel Puig

Abstract

Reading Manuel Puig from his archive necessarily implies an operation that dismantles (at the same time that it attempts against) the hierarchical and classifying drive with which critics have historically interpreted his work. From a geneticist and archiphilological perspective, what the archive reveals is a dynamic relationship between its ramifying papers, not following lines of subordination, but in the form of a rhizome, where any element can affect or influence any other.
