Magmatic addition rates differentiate periods of steady-state versus flare-up magmatism in the Central Andean arc
Abstract
Magmatic additions to the crust during flare-up events are one order of magnitude higher than periods of steady-state magmatism, according to an analysis of the volumes erupted over the last 35 Myr in the Central Andes based on a new volcanic database.
