European Arabisms in Brazilian Portuguese

Abstract

This paper about Arabic loans in Brazilian Portuguese aims to identify local uses of the Iberian heritage, registered as diasystemic information in the Léxico Português de Origem Árabe (VARGENS, 2007). It analyses the Arabisms structure as well as the parts of speech and semantic fields they belong to.
