Adolf Abraham Halevi Fraenkel (1891‑1965) was a man with various profiles, which made a complex and remarkable person out of him. The paper goes back over his destiny/ies: religious Jew, German Jew, mathematician, German-Jewish mathematician, Zionist, a man of passages, with ongoing returns between his origins and the fate he chose for himself; from his beginnings in Germany to his career in Israel, over his settling in Mandatory Palestine, end of the 1920’s-beginning of the 1930’s.
