The person of academician Pavlo Tutkovskyi in the context of bibliography
Abstract
Purpose of the article is an analysis of two aspects of the topic of connection of the outstanding Ukrainian scientist Academician Pavlo Tutkovskyi with the bibliography and to outline the prospects of bibliographic researches in this direction. Article prepared in the river-bed of implementation of scientific theme 2019-2021 the "Theoretical, methodical and applied aspects of forming of national bibliography in the context of study of inheritance of figures of Ukrainian science and culture". Methodology. Bibliographic and other general scientific methods are used: systemic and historical approaches; empirical methods of description and modeling; analytical and thematic method; source and statistical analysis. Scientific novelty. The first part systematically analyzes the bibliographic achievements of the scientist: indexes, reviews, bibliographies. The significant contribution of the scientist to the development of the Ukrainian scientific-auxiliary bibliography, which reflects the whole complex of Earth sciences, is reflected. It is found out, that to research actually of bibliographic activity Pavlo Tutkovskyi scientists did not spare enough attention. The second part describes the range of bibliographic sources (printed and electronic), which contain information about the works of Academician Pavlo Tutkovskyi, literature about his life and work. The state of bibliographic support of this issue is determined. The prospect of forming the most complete scientific bibliography of the scientist to date is outlined. Conclusions. Scientist and bibliographer Pavlo Tutkovskyi made a great contribution to the development of the theory and practice of bibliographic research, especially in the field of geology. Large scientific erudition and knowledge of a few foreign languages allowed Pavlo Tutkovskyi in full to work over scientific information generators, drawing on accomplishment of not only home but also foreign science and practices. His bibliographic works on the natural resources of the regions of Ukraine have not lost their relevance. The considerable debenture array of sources about life and activity of academician needs working. The analysis of sources that contain bibliographic information about the works of Academician Pavlo Tutkovskyi and publications about his life and work, gives grounds to speak about the need to prepare a personal bibliographic index of scientist.
