The objective is to identify the measures to control the use of creative accounting practices in the financial statements of Ecuadorian companies as a mechanism to prevent tax fraud. It corresponds to a non-experimental, descriptive research. Respondents considered that the accounting items most prone to being manipulated are: expense recognition, inventory impairment, inventory valuation and income recognition. Some measures have been proposed that serve as a basis for controlling the use of creative accounting practices in the financial statements of Ecuadorian companies as a mechanism to prevent tax fraud, the purpose of which is to ensure that companies present their financial information in accordance with the reality of the same and generate trust in stakeholders.
