This systematic literature review was conducted to explore systems for measuring and monitoring the activity routine of elderly people with dementia. It was identified and analyzed relevant studies evaluating the construction, effectiveness, and usability of these systems to improve the quality of life of this demographic group. This survey covered the exploration of multiple scientific databases, namely B-on, Google Scholar, PubMed, Science Direct and IEEE, covering the period from 2018 to 2023. The methodology of the different scientific studies, along with their results, as well as the characteristics of the study and the characteristics of the technologies were investigated. The final compilation consisted of 22 articles describing different measurement and monitoring tools. Gaps were identified in this final samples, as well as fields that still need to be addressed. Future research efforts should prioritize the development and refinement of robust, safe, and practical tools aimed at improving patients' quality of life and alleviating the responsibilities of their caregivers.
