This paper presents the results of a study that addressed the effects of the "judicial remedy" in the care of children with chronic disease. It aims to discuss the intersectorial co-responsibility of health and law fields on child rights and needs. It is a situation study that employed a life history approach. The corpus of analysis consists on observation records and narratives of the sick child’s parents. The history of the child's illness brought into light the meanings and the experience of the pilgrimage undertaken by the family in search of care in the health and legal services, as well as the responses from these services. The research results evidence the poor enforcement of the child’s right to health by the health authorities and the judicial instances, especially regarding long-term disease care.
