La lectura literaria ante el desafío digital

Abstract

La teoría literaria se ve obligada a desplegar sus alas de nuevo. La lectura digital pide un lugar en el podio cultural, un estatus propio, distinto al de la obra impresa en papel. Tenemos que expandir el concepto de Humanidades al de Humanidades digitales, pero por desgracia la mayoría de las propuestas de investigación que se hacen tienen más que ver con los programas y ordenadores que con las humanidades y poco con la interpretación de lo creado e ideado por el hombre. Propongo en este trabajo que entendamos al lector como confabulador, uno que sabe mezclar, complementar, las diferentes extensiones, visuales, sonoras, que el texto sugiere, y así podemos llegar a comprender la complejidad y riqueza que permite la lectura digital. Abordo varios modos en que el lector es confabulador, el que mezcla imágenes, colores, y sonidos, mediante los vínculos del hipertexto. Además, revisamos tres maneras en que la experiencia lectora digital se guarda mejor en la memoria. Palabras clave: Humanidades digitales. La hora del lector digital. El lector confabulador. La lectura como experiencia. Multisensorial.AbstractLiterary theory must once again open its wings. Digital reading is asking for a place in our cultural podium. It demands its own status, a different one than that of the traditional reading on printed paper. We have to expand the concept of Humanities to the one of Digital Humanities, but sadly enough the majority of the research projects submitted for funding are loaded with requests for hardware and software, and very little is related to improve the interpretation of works of art, the principal task of the humanities. I propose a few ways for developing a new type of reading for the digital age, based on reading as experience, a way of reading that makes us confabulators. The meaning of the words is complemented by the multisensory elements mentioned in the texts, like images, colors and sounds, through the links of the hypertext. Also, we offer a few ways to improve our remembrance of literary digital texts. Key words: Digital humanities. The hour of the reader. The reader as confabulator. Reading as experience.
