The purpose of this research is to explore, from the GEM 2012 survey data, the factors that might affect the probability that a Colombian who has returned to the country becomes to be an entrepreneur by opportunity offer. The exploration was done from the estimation of binary response models. The results show that the variables that best explain a migrant returning by opportunity offer are: the positive expectations that the country has generated regarding the creation of companies in a short term basis (six-month), the savings, and the contacts made abroad by the potential entrepreneur. This work is one of the first studies addressing the factors that affect the probability that a Colombian who returned to the country establishes as an entrepreneur by opportunity. However, the present work is just exploratory, due to the limitations in the availability of information sources.
