This paper reports on the results of a research project aimed at investigating the process of writing and rewriting of rubrics for text production experienced by fourteen teachers of a private institution located in Maringá, Parana State. Purpose, genre, circulation sites and interlocutor were taken as criteria for judging the appropriateness of the rubrics produced. The paper concludes by emphasizing the importance of reflective practices in teacher development.
