Una revisión de los aportes del institucionalismo histórico a la ciencia política
Abstract
El objetivo del presente trabajo es el de realizar una revisión de los principales aportes del enfoque teórico del neoinstitucionalismo al desarrollo de la disciplina de la ciencia política y, específicamente, los aportes del institucionalismo histórico como corriente interna. En primera instancia, se plantea el lugar que ocupa el neoinstitucionalismo en la ciencia política, reconociendo, al mismo tiempo, que este enfoque carece de unicidad, puesto que en su interior se pueden distinguir al menos tres corrientes como son la de elección racional, el institucionalismo sociológico y el institucionalismo histórico, distinción útil de Hall y Taylor del cual se sirve en términos generales este trabajo. En segundo lugar, este se concentrará en aquellos aportes del institucionalismo histórico para el estudio de lo institucional y su vínculo con la dinámica de crisis, cambio y continuidad, reconociéndose al menos tres modelos analíticos como es el de las coyunturas críticas, path dependence y punctuated equilibrium. Abstract The purpose of the present work is to revise the main contributions of the neoinstitutionalism as theoretical framework, to the development of the political science; specifically, those of the historical institutionalism as an internal trend. Firstly, the place of the neoinstitutionalism in political sciences is established, acknowledging at the same time that this approach is not unified; as at least three trends can be identified inside it: rational choice, sociologic institutionalism and historical institutionalism; this useful distinction from Hall and Taylor grounds the general terms of this work. Secondly, it will focus on those contributions of the historical institutionalism for the study of the institutions and their link to the crisis, change and continuity dynamics, acknowledging at least three analytical models: critical conjunctions, path dependence and punctuated equilibrium.
