The Role of the Public Prosecution in Combating Administrative and Financial Corruption study in light of Law No. 49 of 2017

The public prosecution is the organ that initiates criminal proceedings on behalf of the community. This body represents the society in initiating criminal proceedings and follows up to the end. It exists in all the countries of the world to protect the general right، whatever the names it calls because there is legislation that takes the name of the public prosecution، including Egyptian legislation. The jurisdiction of the public prosecution varies from one country to another، and it is used to initiate criminal proceedings in some countries، including Egypt، Kuwait، Syria، Lebanon، France، and Iraq، with the participation of other parties in initiating the case. With the issuance of the Public Prosecution Law No. 49 of 2017، this law gave broader powers to the public prosecution، including the investigation of the crimes of financial and administrative corruption in the ministries and independent bodies، The importance of research appears in the reduction of the phenomenon of administrative and financial corruption as this phenomenon has become global and very widespread and، It takes wide dimensions in which different factors overlap، which are difficult to distinguish، It is no secret to anyone، The prominent role played by the wars experienced by Iraq from the emergence of the phenomenon of administrative and financial corruption، Therefore، we appeal to the legislator، and call on him to activate the role of the public prosecution in the fight against administrative and financial corruption، and activate this body to carry out the tasks entrusted to him by law.
