Cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy sleep disorders in elderly and senile age
Abstract
The article is devoted to cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy (CBT) which is the recommended standard non-pharmacological treatment of sleep disorders not only in young ages, but in elderly and senile age. Describes the contribution of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy for the treatment of sleep disorders in later ages. Based on the review of foreign studies over the past several years demonstrates the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy in the treatment of sleep disorders in later ages. Presents basic cognitive models of sleep disorders. Specific cognitive and behavioral techniques used in the treatment of sleep disorders. Main dysfunctional beliefs about sleep in patients late ages.Describes the structure of the sessions of cognitive-behavioral therapy sleep disorders in elderly and senile age.
