Process in theoretical and empirical research on optimized care coordination of emergency healthcare system
Abstract
Ensuring patient safety is an essential goal of the development of medical care system for acute disease treatment. However, adverse events caused by fragmented, poorly coordinated medical care are the leading cause of death among patients with acute diseases. Poor collaboration of emergency medical system leads to inadequate sharing of clinical information, lack of risk sharing and less systematic decision-making, which has become the biggest obstacle to ensuring patient safety in acute disease treatment. Based on the theories of risk management and collaborative governance, the study summaries the process in theoretical and empirical research on optimized care coordination of emergency healthcare system in China and foreign countries to provide an implication for improving patient safety and promoting high-quality healthcare system.
