O desporto como homeostasia sociocultural: uma hipótese

Abstract

Sport, as a prominent social event in contemporary society capable of mobilizing millions of people around the world, emerges to the researcher as a relevant object of study. This is because it is not only a central activity in contemporary society, but also one of the most popular phenomena in the 20th and 21st century. This paper aims to find and obtain some answers to the nuclear function that sport possesses, through the ideas of homeostasis of the neurobiologist Antonio Damásio and through the conatus ideas of the philosopher Spinoza
