Russian Chrononyms in Linguistic Perspective (Review of: Atroshenko, O. V. Russian Popular Chrononymy: Systemic, Functional and Lexicographic aspects)

Abstract

The review deals with the ideas expressed in O. V. Atroshenko’s doctoral thesis. The author specifically considers the motivational peculiarities of chrononyms, the correlations between chrononyms and calendar sayings, the principles of use of dialect materials in such kind of study as well as the research perspectives of the basic terms of the Russian chrononymic system.
