This study aimed to solve the low listening ability problem of Japanese Language Education Program UNNES students, by applying Dictation Test in Chokai Enshu lecture. Dictation test is an alternative solution to the problem of the lack of the habit of writing notes when students are listening to Chokai course material. This study conducted with descriptive method by analyzing and observing the classroom. This study results showed that positive response shown by students after Dictation test applied in the classroom. This can be seen from the activities of writing notes when the material Chokai being played, the understanding of the students about the material has been heard increasingly evident by being able to answer exercise questions during the discussion session. The effort to get used to writing notes to improve the ability to listen to Japanese language, and the enthusiasm of students because of the positive feedback when the discussion takes place.
