Homorska series of Volyn block of Ukrainian shield. Article 2. Lithological reconstruction, geochemical and petrochemical features and stratigraphic position

Abstract

The article deals with the petrochemical, geochemical characteristics and stratigraphic position of the main rocks of Homorska series, represented by Burtyn (lower part) and Vasylivka (upper part) suits. It is shown the reconstructed primary structure of garnet and graphite gneiss of Burtyn series that complies to poorly differentiated sediments-mostly greywackes and sandstones with clay cement and continental clay of cold and temperate climate. Volcanic rocks of Vasylivka suits belonging to two petrochemical series – tholeiitic (the vast majority) and subalkalic (part of Buky aria).
